“Each time I reminisce on how I met Mr. Torres; it brings a warmth to my heart. I recall walking into the Bronx Educational Opportunity Center seeking “help”. As a single mother, I needed a job which was so hard to come by with only a High School diploma. While at the registration office, I had no idea what training I would sign up for, but I knew I needed a source of income. I decided to register for the Direct Support Professional position because it was 6 weeks which was a great timeframe for me.
